"When my son got in the car after his first camp, he was smiling for the first time in a long time"

Frequently asked questions

What does koru mean?

A koru is a Maori symbol of an unfurling fern frond, and it represents new life, growth, and strength. It is our belief that participation in programs, based in experiences where therapy is incorporated into play, result in individual growth and increased self-confidence and long-term meaningful relationships.

My child wants to attend a program that is not listed, can you help?

At this time we only sponsor programming for children and families demonstrating a financial need and who would expressly benefit from the unique programs and services provided by Aerie Experiences, Dustin's Place, and New Beginnings Youth Ranch. We would like to support more programs in the future, so check back next year.

This sounds perfect for my child. How do I apply?

Thanks for your interest! Download an application from the apply tab. Fill it out and email it to info@korukidsconnections.org or mail it to 78 Dawsonville Way N Suite 140-38, Dawsonville Georgia 30534. In order to receive a scholarship, your child must be accepted into either Aerie Experiences, Dustin's Place, or New Beginnings Youth Ranch.

You can apply for a Koru Kids Connections Scholarship before applying to therapeutic camp, or after you have been accepted into one of the three programs we support. However, you must be accepted into one of the three camps we support to receive the scholarship. Once we determine that a child is eligible for therapeutic camp, we consider your application based on need and available funds. Unfortunately, we won't be able to help all that apply. At the end of April we will contact everyone that we are able to help.

I got a Koru Kids Connections' scholarship! Now what happens?

Congrats! We will make payment directly to the program your child will attend. Aerie Experiences, Dustin's Place, or New Beginnings Youth Ranch will then reduce your child's tuition by the scholarship amount and bill you for the remainder of the cost, if any.

I love what you are doing! How can I donate to Koru Kids Connections?

Thanks for wanting to support Koru Kids Connections! You can make a tax-free contribution below. Or, you can direct your United Way giving to Koru Kids Connections. Don't forget to check your company's matching fund policy!

I'd love to help, but I can't donate at this time. Is there anything else I can do?

We'd love to have you! Send us an email below or at info@korukidsconnections letting us know that you are interested.
